Microinfusion, at first glance, appears to be nearly identical in concept to microneedling as it uses ultra-fine needles to create hundreds of micro-channels in the skin. While microneedling typically precedes the application of serums or growth factors, microinfusion stamps a combination of ultra-effective skin-rejuvenating solutions into the skin during treatment for enhanced efficacy. At Total Glow in Palo Alto AquaGold is a microinfusion device that utilizes hollow 24-karat needles thinner than a hair follicle. The ultra-fine needles in the AquaGold device penetrate 600 microns into the skin, versus microneedling which can create micro injuries as deep as 2.5 mm. Due to the fineness of the needles and the direct delivery of a specially formulated elixir beneath the skin’s surface, microinfusion produces more immediate results and requires less recovery than traditional microneedling.

When you arrive at our office for your appointment, our friendly and knowledgeable staff will welcome you into one of our private treatment areas.
Your Palo Alto AquaGold specialist will thoroughly cleanse your skin, and you will be ready for treatment! AquaGold is not painful and requires no numbing, so you can expect your treatment to be comfortable and expeditious. Your specialist will then fill the AquaGold device with our microinfusion solution. While you lie down comfortably, your provider will stamp the solution into your skin with the device, carefully applying your treatment evenly throughout the target area. The solution will be deposited into the dermis for deep repair as the hollow ultra-fine needles penetrate your skin. At the same time, the micro-injuries on the skin’s surface will stimulate collagen production and surface improvements.
There is essentially no recovery following AquaGold treatment.
In fact, AquaGold is often referred to as a “red carpet treatment” because it is so effective and so easily tolerated that it can be the perfect treatment to prepare for a special event. Your skin may be slightly red for one to two days, but you will not have to worry about bruising. As soon as your appointment is over, you will be able to return to your day without restriction from activities. However, it is recommended to avoid washing your face (or any other areas treated) for three to four hours after treatment. Also, you should apply sunscreen as your skin may be more sensitive to the sun for several days.
You can expect to realize brighter, smoother, younger-looking skin immediately after your treatment. Your results will last approximately three months. Many of our clients schedule their AquaGold treatments quarterly to not only maintain but enhance their results for progressively firmer and more luminous skin.
AquaGold carries very little risk and minimal side effects. Your skin may be a little red for one to two days, and you may experience increased sensitivity to the sun for a few days. With any treatment, it is important to disclose any known allergies or sensitivities you may have to reduce the risk of adverse reactions.
